Possibly the most dramatic changes we go through in our lives happen during our teens.
Youth
Experiences during our teen years are felt much more strongly than at any other time of our development. Everything about us is changing from how we look to how we feel to how we act.
Feeling angry, scared, alone, sad, or feeling like you don't have any control over what's happening to you, feeling depressed, lonely, angry – you name it – teens feel it all in a big way.
In addition to all the normal drama, some teens don't have a supportive home life. Some of you may have very serious family problems where you or a family member may use too much alcohol or drugs. Maybe you are worried about a friend in those situations. Sometimes, things get so bad that you might feel like running away or things get so crazy you are actually kicked out of the house.
You may be a former foster care youth who has just "aged out" of the system and you don't know where to go. This can be a very hard time.
We want you to know that SAY is here to help you – you are not alone.
